Trivandrum, Kerala – The first-ever Educational Sambo Seminar 2025 in South India was successfully conducted at Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Kariyavattom by Sambo Association of Kerala in association with Russian House Trivandrum, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) LNCPE. This landmark event united Sambo and other martial art practitioners from across Kerala, marking a significant milestone in the development of Sambo as a sport and Martial art in India.
World-Class Training Experience
The seminar was jointly organized by the Russian House in Trivandrum, the Sambo Association of Kerala, and the Sambo Union of Asia. The training sessions were led by internationally acclaimed 4x World Sambo Champion and Mulitiple time international Judo Champion Mr. Uali Kurzhev and Russian National Champion & Sambo Coach Mr. Ruslan Varisov. Their expertise provided valuable insights into Sambo techniques, rules, and competitive strategies, elevating the skill level of athletes and coaches.
Dignitaries and Special Guests
The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Consul of Russia, Mr. Ratheesh C. Nair, who expressed his strong commitment to fostering Sambo in Kerala and strengthening India-Russia sports collaborations.
The seminar also featured a special address by Sensei Suresh Gopi, Director General of the Sambo Union of Asia and Oceania, emphasizing Sambo’s expansion worldwide and its Olympic potential.
